The right to data portability allows you to obtain and reuse your personal data processed by CERN for your own purposes. It enables you to move, copy or transfer personal data easily from one IT environment to another in a safe and secure way, without affecting its usability.

It can be exercised only if the personal data exists in a digital format and was collected based on consent or contract; reminder: the underlying Privacy Notice contains the lawful basis.

At the discretion of the Director-General, a portability request can be granted even if these conditions are not met, however it does not seem feasible if data does not exist in digital format.
